Which companies sponsor visas for HVAC workers in Florida?
Large mechanical contractors and HVAC manufacturers with Florida operations are the most active sponsors. Companies like Johnson Controls, Carrier Global, Daikin Applied, and Comfort Systems USA have filed H-1B visa and employment-based petitions for HVAC engineering roles. Smaller regional mechanical contractors occasionally sponsor for specialized positions, though sponsorship is more common at the engineering and project management level than for field technician roles.
Which visa types are most common for HVAC roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for HVAC engineers and energy systems professionals, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and qualify as specialty occupations. EB-3 employment-based green cards are used for skilled technician roles requiring demonstrated experience. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HVAC engineering positions under USMCA professional categories.
Which cities in Florida have the most HVAC sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads in HVAC sponsorship activity, supported by dense commercial construction, hospitality infrastructure, and international business presence. Orlando follows closely, driven by theme park facilities, convention centers, and rapid commercial development. Tampa's growing healthcare and office construction sectors also generate consistent demand. Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville have smaller but active markets, particularly for commercial HVAC project management roles.
How to find hvac visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters HVAC visa sponsorship jobs in Florida by role and location, showing employers with active sponsorship history. Search for HVAC engineering and mechanical systems roles filtered to Florida cities like Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. Migrate Mate surfaces opportunities from employers already familiar with the H-1B and employment-based sponsorship process, saving significant research time.
Are there state-specific considerations for HVAC visa sponsorship in Florida?
Florida requires HVAC contractors to hold a state-issued license, and employers sponsoring foreign workers must document that offered wages meet Department of Labor prevailing wage standards for the specific Florida county where work is performed. Florida's climate means year-round operational demand, which strengthens the business case employers make when justifying sponsorship. HVAC roles tied to energy efficiency and building automation systems tend to attract more sponsorship interest from larger firms.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hvac jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
