Aerospace and defense contractors are particularly active sponsors, along with electronics manufacturers and food processing companies like Publix Super Markets and Dole Food Company.
How to find manufacturing visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?

Which visa types are most common for manufacturing roles in Florida?
H-1B visas dominate for engineering and technical roles in aerospace and electronics manufacturing. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican engineers. L-1A and L-1B visas are common for international manufacturers with Florida operations. O-1 visas apply to specialized roles in advanced manufacturing or research and development positions.
Which cities in Florida have the most manufacturing sponsorship jobs?

Jacksonville offers shipbuilding and transportation equipment opportunities. Miami-Dade focuses on food processing and textiles. Brevard County's Space Coast provides specialized aerospace manufacturing roles with companies serving NASA and SpaceX.
Do prevailing wages for manufacturing jobs vary by Florida region?
Yes, prevailing wages differ significantly across Florida metros. Orlando and Tampa Bay typically show higher wages due to aerospace and high-tech manufacturing concentration. Jacksonville and Miami wages reflect their industrial focus areas. Rural manufacturing areas often have lower prevailing wage requirements, which can benefit both employers and visa applicants during the application process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manufacturing jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
