Which companies in Florida sponsor visas for product owners?
Florida-based tech and enterprise companies with a track record of sponsoring product roles include UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) in Weston, Chewy in Plantation, Carnival Corporation in Miami, and Citrix (now Cloud Software Group) in Fort Lauderdale. Large healthcare systems like AdventHealth and Orlando Health also hire product owners and have sponsored H-1B visa workers. Sponsorship availability varies by team, budget cycle, and role seniority.
What visa types are most common for product owner roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product owner roles in Florida, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, information systems, or business. Some candidates also enter on L-1B visas when transferring within a multinational company. Candidates from Australia may use the E-3 visa, and those from Canada or Mexico may qualify under the TN visa category.
Which cities in Florida have the most product owner visa sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida for product owner sponsorship activity, driven by its fintech and technology startup growth. Tampa is strong in healthcare IT and financial services, with companies like Raymond James and WellCare historically sponsoring product roles. Orlando has a growing tech corridor connected to simulation, hospitality tech, and defense contracting. Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville round out the market, particularly for enterprise software and logistics technology employers.
How to find product owner visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search product owner roles in Florida without sifting through postings from employers who don't sponsor. You can filter by state and role to see active openings from Florida-based companies that have indicated sponsorship willingness. This is especially useful for product owner candidates on H-1B or OPT timelines who need to move quickly.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for product owners seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since employers must still meet Department of Labor wage requirements for the relevant metropolitan area. Miami and Tampa have distinct prevailing wage levels set by DOL for product and program management roles, so the wage a sponsoring employer must pay differs by city. Florida's university system, including the University of Florida and University of South Florida, also produces a pipeline of OPT-eligible candidates that some employers are already familiar with sponsoring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product owner jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
