Which companies sponsor visas for product owners in Pennsylvania?
Philadelphia-based employers including Comcast, Vanguard, Independence Blue Cross, and SAP have filed H-1B petitions for product-related roles in past years. In Pittsburgh, companies in robotics, autonomous vehicles, and university-affiliated tech spinouts have sponsored product owners as well. Large healthcare systems such as UPMC also hire product owners and have sponsorship infrastructure in place for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for product owner roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product owner roles in Pennsylvania, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. L-1B visas apply when a candidate transfers from a foreign office of a Pennsylvania employer. Candidates from Australia may be eligible for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under TN visa status in certain configurations.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most product owner sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia concentrates the largest share of product owner sponsorship activity in Pennsylvania, driven by its fintech, insurance, and healthcare IT sectors. Pittsburgh is the second-largest market, with notable hiring from tech companies connected to Carnegie Mellon University and the autonomous vehicle industry. Smaller pockets of opportunity exist in the Lehigh Valley and suburban Philadelphia corridors, where enterprise software and logistics firms operate.
How to find product owner visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, so you can search product owner roles in Pennsylvania without sifting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform pulls from employers with documented sponsorship activity, which is especially useful in Pennsylvania given how spread out the opportunity is across Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and suburban tech corridors. Filtering by role and state on Migrate Mate saves significant time in your search.
Are there state-specific considerations for product owners seeking sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania has no state-level visa program, so federal H-1B rules apply. One practical consideration is that prevailing wage requirements for product owner roles are determined by the job's location, meaning Philadelphia and Pittsburgh can carry different wage obligations under Department of Labor guidelines. Pennsylvania's strong university pipeline, particularly from Carnegie Mellon, Penn, and Drexel, means employers are familiar with sponsoring international graduates for product and technical roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product owner jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
