Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for product owners?
Large Ohio-based employers with established sponsorship programs include JPMorgan Chase, Progressive Insurance, Nationwide, and Huntington Bancshares in the financial sector, along with healthcare organizations like OhioHealth and Cleveland Clinic. Major tech-adjacent manufacturers and consulting firms operating out of Columbus and Cincinnati also regularly file H-1B visa petitions for product owner and product management roles.
Which visa types are most common for product owner roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product owners in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or business. Candidates already authorized under OPT or STEM OPT often use Ohio employer offers to initiate H-1B sponsorship. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrable distinction in product or technology leadership.
Which cities in Ohio have the most product owner visa sponsorship jobs?
Columbus accounts for the largest share of product owner sponsorship activity in Ohio, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance tech, and healthcare IT employers. Cleveland is the next strongest market, particularly in healthcare and manufacturing technology. Cincinnati sees steady demand through its consumer goods, logistics, and regional banking sectors. Smaller hiring activity appears in Dayton and Akron, mostly tied to manufacturing and government-adjacent technology roles.
How to find product owner visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search product owner roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that exclude international candidates. Because Ohio's sponsorship market is concentrated in finance, insurance, and healthcare, filtering by those industries on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to employers with proven sponsorship track records for product management titles.
Are there any Ohio-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for product owners?
Ohio's strong university pipeline, including Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Cincinnati, produces a steady stream of OPT-eligible graduates in computer science and business, which means many Ohio employers are familiar with sponsoring international product management hires. The state's lower cost base compared to coastal tech hubs also means prevailing wage requirements for product owner roles are set at regional rates, which can influence how employers structure sponsorship offers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product owner jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
