Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for product owners?
Indianapolis-based employers are the most active sponsors for product owner roles in Indiana. Companies like Salesforce, Eli Lilly, Cummins, OneAmerica, and Genesys have filed H-1B petitions for product and technology positions in recent years. Healthcare systems such as Indiana University Health and Ascension also hire product owners for digital transformation initiatives and have sponsorship track records.
What visa types are most common for product owner roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product owners in Indiana, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard. L-1B visas appear for intracompany transfers at multinational employers like Cummins. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for TN visa status under the NAFTA/USMCA category for management consultants or computer systems analysts, depending on how the role is defined.
Which cities in Indiana have the most product owner sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the large majority of product owner sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of healthcare technology firms, financial services companies, and enterprise software employers. Bloomington sees demand tied to Indiana University's research and tech ecosystem. Carmel and Fishers, both Indianapolis suburbs, have growing tech employer bases and are increasingly appearing in H-1B disclosure data for product and program management roles.
How to find product owner visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for product owner roles in Indiana without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can browse by state and role type to surface employers actively hiring and sponsoring in cities like Indianapolis, Carmel, and Bloomington. This saves significant time compared to reviewing general job listings where sponsorship status is often unclear.
Are there any Indiana-specific factors product owners should know about sponsorship?
Indiana's lower cost of living relative to coastal tech hubs can affect prevailing wage benchmarks, which are determined by the Department of Labor based on local wage surveys. Employers must pay H-1B workers at least the prevailing wage for the Indianapolis or relevant metro area, not a national average. Indiana University and Purdue University both produce strong product management talent, and some employers recruit internationally through those pipelines, which can indicate sponsorship familiarity.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product owner jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
