Which education companies and institutions sponsor TN visas in Florida?
Florida's largest public school districts, including Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Broward County Public Schools, have a track record of hiring international educators in qualifying specialty roles. Florida's major universities, including the University of Florida, Florida International University, and the University of South Florida, also sponsor TN visa holders in faculty, research, and academic administrative positions. Private K-12 schools and tutoring organizations with structured HR departments are additional sources of sponsorship.
Which cities in Florida have the most education TN sponsorship jobs?
Miami and the greater South Florida region generate the highest concentration of education TN sponsorship opportunities, driven by the size of Miami-Dade and Broward County school systems and several large university campuses. Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville also produce consistent openings, particularly within their respective university systems and growing charter school networks. Gainesville and Tallahassee, as home to flagship state universities, are strong options for post-secondary education roles specifically.
What types of education roles typically qualify for TN visa sponsorship in Florida?
TN status in education is generally limited to roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline. College and university faculty positions, curriculum specialists, education researchers, and instructional designers with defined degree requirements commonly qualify. K-12 teaching roles can qualify when they require a subject-specific degree, such as mathematics, science, or special education. General teacher's aide or paraprofessional roles typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard required for TN classification.
How do I find education TN sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for candidates who need visa sponsorship, including TN status, and lets you filter by visa type, industry, and state. Searching for education roles in Florida on Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have indicated willingness to sponsor TN workers, saving time compared to manually screening general job postings. Focusing your search on university systems, large public school districts, and established private education organizations in Florida will yield the most relevant results.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in education?
Florida's unusually large and decentralized public school system means sponsorship decisions often vary by district rather than at the state level, so the same role may be sponsored in Miami-Dade but not in a smaller rural district. Florida universities operating under the State University System have established international hiring processes and are generally more familiar with TN procedures than smaller institutions. Canadian citizens can apply for TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry, which is particularly convenient given the multiple international airports in Florida.
