Which science and research companies sponsor TN visas in Florida?
Florida employers with established TN sponsorship patterns in science and research include pharmaceutical companies in the Tampa Bay area, aerospace and defense contractors near Kennedy Space Center, and biotech firms in the Miami Innovation District. University research centers such as those affiliated with the University of Florida and University of Miami also hire TN-eligible scientists and researchers in qualifying occupations.
Which cities in Florida have the most science and research TN sponsorship jobs?
Miami and Tampa lead in life sciences and pharmaceutical research roles. Orlando attracts defense and aerospace research employers tied to Kennedy Space Center and related contractors. Gainesville concentrates academic and agricultural research positions linked to the University of Florida. Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale have growing biomedical and marine science sectors that regularly post TN-eligible research openings.
What types of science and research roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
NAFTA-designated TN occupational categories cover a range of science and research roles, including chemist, biochemist, biologist, computer systems analyst, scientific technician, and geologist, among others. The role must match a listed TN occupation, and the employer typically documents the job duties and your qualifying credentials. Reviewing the official USCIS TN visa occupation list and the O*NET profile for your specific job title helps confirm eligibility before applying.
How do I find science and research TN sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to search specifically for science and research positions in Florida where employers have TN sponsorship history. This avoids manually sorting through general postings. Searching by city or sub-sector, such as biotech in Miami or aerospace research near Orlando, helps narrow results to roles most likely to support TN applicants with relevant credentials.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in science and research?
Florida's significant concentration of federally funded research facilities, including NASA contractor sites and NIH-affiliated laboratories, means some science positions may have security clearance requirements that add steps beyond standard TN processing. Additionally, roles at Florida's public research universities may involve state employment verification requirements alongside the federal TN process. Canadian nationals should confirm that a specific employer's internal hiring policies accommodate TN status before investing time in the application.
