This is a newly created, high-impact role that will serve as a critical global communications leader, responsible for shaping and delivering the organization's voice — internally and externally — across every major channel and audience.
Reporting directly to the VP of Communications, this leader will oversee a multi-disciplinary team spanning internal communications, executive communications, social media, media relations/PR, and broader corporate affairs functions. This individual will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership, and a champion for the enterprise's reputation and culture.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Media Relations/PR leader to set strategic direction for proactive and reactive media strategies that protect and enhance the organization's reputation.
- Provide senior counsel and support to the Media Relations/PR team on high-stakes issues, and key announcements, coordinating across legal, HR, and senior leadership.
- Serve as an escalation point for issues monitoring, media Q&As, and consistent message delivery during sensitive situations.
- Align media relations activity — including press releases, media pitches, media briefings, and events — with broader communications priorities and organizational goals.
- Partner with the Social Media leader to develop platform-specific strategies that build brand presence, drive engagement, and grow audiences.
- Ensure social media strategy is integrated with the broader global communications strategy and aligned to brand voice and business priorities.
- Support the Social Media team in identifying trends, opportunities, and risks through landscape monitoring and listening data.
- Provide guidance and senior oversight on social media governance, policies, and response protocols.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional communications team across multiple geographies.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Recruit and retain top communications talent.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 8-10+ years of progressive communications experience, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple communications disciplines — including internal communications, executive communications, media relations, and social media.
- Proven track record leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats (long-form, short-form, digital, scripted).
- Hands-on experience with communications platforms.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to counsel and influence senior leaders.
- Experience navigating complex, high-visibility issues.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated, multi-channel communications strategies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience in a multinational, or global organization.
- Agency and/or in-house experience in a corporate communications function.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
- Familiarity with communications analytics tools, measurement frameworks, and digital platforms.
