Which accounting companies sponsor visas in Utah?
Major visa sponsors include Zions Bancorporation, Intermountain Healthcare, University of Utah, and Big Four accounting firms like Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG with Salt Lake City offices. Regional firms like Tanner LLC and Squire & Company also sponsor visas for specialized roles. Tech companies like Qualtrics and Pluralsight frequently need accounting professionals with specific expertise in revenue recognition and financial reporting.
Which visa types are most common for accounting roles in Utah?
H-1B visas dominate Utah accounting sponsorship, particularly for CPA roles, financial analysts, and tax specialists. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican accountants in qualifying positions. O-1 visas apply to senior professionals with exceptional achievements in forensic accounting or specialized tax expertise. L-1 visa transfers are common for international accounting firms with Utah operations.
How to find accounting visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for accounting positions in Utah that sponsor visas. Filter by cities like Salt Lake City, Provo, and West Valley City where most opportunities exist. Focus on healthcare systems, financial institutions, and tech companies that frequently sponsor accounting professionals. Many positions require CPA certification or specialized experience in areas like healthcare revenue cycle or technology company accounting.
Which Utah cities have the most accounting visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City leads with the highest concentration of sponsoring employers, including major corporations and Big Four firms. Provo offers opportunities with tech companies and Brigham Young University. West Valley City hosts regional headquarters requiring accounting expertise. Ogden and Park City have smaller but growing markets, particularly in hospitality and manufacturing sectors needing specialized accounting support.
What are Utah-specific considerations for accounting visa sponsorship?
Utah's prevailing wages for accounting roles are generally lower than coastal markets but competitive regionally. The state's strong university pipeline from University of Utah and Utah State creates competition for entry-level positions. Healthcare and tech sector dominance means experience with industry-specific accounting standards like ASC 606 or healthcare revenue recognition significantly improves sponsorship prospects in Utah's market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
