The incumbent will be a member of the FCC additives R&D team within our Catalyst Technologies business, supporting the development of novel FCC zeolite additives.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a R&D Intern, you will help drive our goals by:
- Attend safety training sessions to understand and adhere to safety rules, regulations, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines within the workplace. Follow the EHS rules and regulations and be involved to enhance overall safety and compliance.
- Operate and maintain a gas-phase microreactor system for catalyst screening and performance testing.
- Process and analyze kinetic data using Excel and JMP. Generate clear summary reports and graphs for technical review.
- Carry out a kinetics study to gain insights into the rate-limiting steps of light hydrocarbon cracking using a model reaction.
- Probe the intrinsic characteristics of additives using advanced characterization techniques.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Working towards B.S Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Working towards a M.S or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with research emphasis in Heterogeneous Catalysis – (Desired).
- Comprehensive background in heterogeneous catalysis and related disciplines.
- Proficient in lab scale catalyst preparation and activity evaluation and using software for experimental design and data analysis.
- Familiarity with characterization methods and equipment for catalysis.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, a true career aspiration to be a leader and must be adaptable, strive for excellence, and demonstrate a positive attitude in the face of adversity.
- Strong interpersonal skills a must, coupled with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships to achieve results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills essential.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
