Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapy assistants in Georgia?
Large health systems including Wellstar Health System, Piedmont Healthcare, and Emory Healthcare have histories of sponsoring work visas for allied health professionals in Georgia. Outpatient rehabilitation chains and long-term care operators with multiple Georgia locations also sponsor PTAs. Sponsorship is more common at larger organizations with dedicated HR and legal resources than at small independent clinics.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapy assistant roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa for PTAs in Georgia, though it requires the employer to establish that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship is also pursued by some Georgia healthcare employers, particularly those with ongoing staffing needs. International applicants from Australia may explore the E-3 visa as an additional option.
Which cities in Georgia have the most physical therapy assistant sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta has the highest concentration of PTA sponsorship opportunities in Georgia, given its density of hospital systems, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation centers. Augusta, home to Augusta University Medical Center, is another active hiring market. Savannah and Macon also have regional health systems and long-term care facilities that periodically sponsor internationally trained PTAs.
How to find physical therapy assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify Georgia employers actively seeking physical therapy assistants and willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through thousands of general postings, you can search directly for PTA roles in Georgia with confirmed sponsorship. Creating a profile on Migrate Mate also helps match your credentials to relevant openings across Atlanta, Augusta, and beyond.
What should international PTAs know about working in Georgia specifically?
Georgia requires PTAs to hold a state license from the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy, and international applicants must have their credentials evaluated for equivalency before licensure. Georgia participates in the PT Compact, which can ease multi-state licensing for those already licensed elsewhere in the U.S. Employers sponsoring H-1B PTAs must meet prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor for the specific Georgia metro area.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapy assistant jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
