Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapy assistants in Oklahoma?
Hospital systems and large rehabilitation networks are the most consistent sponsors for physical therapy assistant roles in Oklahoma. Facilities affiliated with Integris Health, OU Health, and Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa have histories of employer-sponsored work visas. Smaller outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities do sponsor occasionally, but sponsorship is far more common at larger healthcare organizations with dedicated HR and immigration resources.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapy assistant roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used category for physical therapy assistants, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least an associate degree in physical therapy assisting. The EB-3 employment-based green card is a common immigrant visa pathway for PTAs. Some employers also use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, provided the role meets USMCA occupation criteria for physical therapists or related allied health categories.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most physical therapy assistant sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the largest share of physical therapy assistant sponsorship opportunities in the state, driven by the concentration of major hospital systems, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient clinics in both metros. Lawton, Norman, and Edmond also have active PTA hiring markets tied to regional hospitals and growing suburban healthcare demand. Rural Oklahoma has PTA openings but employer sponsorship is less common outside major metropolitan areas.
How to find physical therapy assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is a job board specifically built for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States, including physical therapy assistant roles in Oklahoma. You can filter directly by state and role to see current PTA openings where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because sponsorship availability changes with hiring cycles, checking Migrate Mate regularly and applying promptly when relevant positions appear gives you the best chance of connecting with Oklahoma employers actively seeking candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for physical therapy assistants seeking sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Physical therapy assistants in Oklahoma must hold a valid license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision before practicing, and many employers require licensure prior to or concurrent with starting work. Foreign-educated PTAs should verify that their credentials meet Oklahoma's educational equivalency standards early in the process. Oklahoma's prevailing wage requirements apply to sponsored positions, meaning employers must pay the federally and state-benchmarked wage for the role and work location, which is determined at the time of the Labor Condition Application filing.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapy assistant jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
