Which companies sponsor visas for project development managers in Georgia?
Large engineering and construction firms are among the most active sponsors for project development managers in Georgia. Companies like Jacobs Engineering, Black & Veatch, and Brasfield & Gorrie have histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in project management roles. Georgia Power and Southern Company also sponsor international talent for energy infrastructure projects. Enterprise software and logistics companies headquartered in the Atlanta metro are additional sources of sponsorship activity.
Which visa types are most common for project development managers in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project development managers in Georgia, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as engineering, construction management, or business. Candidates with advanced degrees may pursue EB-2 green card sponsorship over time. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals if their specific role qualifies under USMCA occupation categories.
Which cities in Georgia have the most project development manager sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the large majority of project development manager sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by its concentration of engineering firms, corporate headquarters, and ongoing infrastructure projects. Savannah is a secondary market, supported by port expansion and logistics investment. Augusta and Columbus see more limited sponsorship activity, generally tied to defense contractors and utilities operating in those regions.
How to find project development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find project development manager roles in Georgia where employers are open to international candidates. Search by state and role on Migrate Mate to surface active openings from engineering firms, construction companies, and energy employers in Atlanta and beyond. Filtering by sponsorship from the start saves time compared to applying broadly and asking later.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for project development managers in Georgia?
Georgia's active infrastructure pipeline, including port expansions at Savannah and transit projects in Atlanta, creates consistent demand for project development managers, which supports employer willingness to sponsor. Roles on federally funded infrastructure contracts often require compliance with prevailing wage standards under the Davis-Bacon Act, which feeds directly into the Department of Labor wage requirements that underpin H-1B petitions. Georgia Tech's engineering programs also supply a well-established international talent pipeline that local employers are familiar with hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project development manager jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
