Which science & research companies sponsor TN visas in Georgia?
Georgia employers with documented TN sponsorship activity in science and research include Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contractors, Piedmont Healthcare research divisions, and pharmaceutical manufacturers operating near Atlanta. Companies in the state's growing cell and gene therapy sector, including those clustered around the Georgia Bioscience Training Center, also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application filings for scientific occupations.
Which cities in Georgia have the most science & research TN sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the largest share of science and research TN sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by Emory, Georgia Tech, and the CDC campus in Druid Hills. Athens has research positions tied to the University of Georgia's agricultural and biological sciences programs. Augusta hosts medical and life sciences roles connected to Augusta University's research enterprise. Savannah and Columbus offer smaller but active pockets of industrial and environmental research hiring.
What types of science & research roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
Under the TN visa category, qualifying scientific occupations explicitly listed by USCIS include biochemists, chemists, biologists, agricultural scientists, physicists, astronomers, animal scientists, plant scientists, soil scientists, and scientific technicians and technologists. Laboratory research roles, environmental scientists, and geologists also appear on the approved occupation list. The position must match the defined occupation title and the applicant must hold a relevant bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field.
How do I find science & research TN sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters science and research positions by TN visa sponsorship and state, letting you search specifically for Georgia employers with active TN Labor Condition Application history in scientific occupations. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with TN requirements. You can browse by occupation category within science and research to match your specific credentials, whether in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related field documented under the TN occupation list.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in Georgia's science & research sector?
Georgia does not impose additional state-level requirements on top of federal TN rules, but science and research roles here often involve federal funding, which can add compliance layers around security clearances or export control classifications. Positions at federally funded research universities or CDC-affiliated contractors may require background verification steps that extend the onboarding timeline. Researchers in agricultural sciences should note that Georgia's strong agribusiness sector produces TN-eligible roles in plant and soil science outside the typical biotech setting.
