Which companies sponsor visas for school nurses in Idaho?
The most active sponsors for school nurse roles in Idaho include large health systems operating school-based clinics, such as St. Luke's Health System and Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, as well as public school districts in the Boise, Nampa, and Meridian areas. Charter school networks and rural district cooperatives occasionally sponsor too, though their capacity varies considerably year to year.
Which visa types are most common for school nurse roles in Idaho?
The H-1B is the most common visa for school nurses in Idaho because the role typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a state license, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Some internationally educated nurses arrive through EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship, particularly when employers face persistent shortages. The TN visa covers registered nurses for Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA.
Which cities in Idaho have the most school nurse sponsorship jobs?
Boise accounts for the largest share of school nurse openings with visa sponsorship in Idaho, driven by its population growth and concentration of healthcare systems. Nampa, Meridian, and Twin Falls also see consistent demand. More rural communities in eastern Idaho, including Idaho Falls and Pocatello, periodically sponsor internationally educated nurses when local hiring pipelines run dry.
How to find school nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Idaho?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Idaho school nurse roles where employers are actively willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through hundreds of general postings, you can search directly for school nurse positions in Idaho and see only employers who have indicated sponsorship. This saves significant time for internationally educated nurses navigating a state with a dispersed job market.
Are there any state-specific considerations for school nurses seeking sponsorship in Idaho?
Idaho requires school nurses to hold an active Idaho RN license, and internationally educated nurses must have their credentials evaluated by a state-approved agency before licensure. Idaho participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact, so nurses already licensed in another compact state may practice without a separate Idaho license. Public school districts sponsoring H-1B visas are cap-exempt as government entities, which can simplify the filing timeline significantly.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored school nurse jobs in Idaho?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
