Which companies sponsor visas for food supervisors in Illinois?
Large food service management companies with significant Illinois operations, including Aramark, Compass Group, Sodexo, and Delaware North, have documented histories of sponsoring work visas for food supervisors. Chicago-based hotel groups and hospital food service contractors also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as H-1B and PERM sponsors for supervisory food service roles.
Which visa types are most common for food supervisor roles in Illinois?
Food supervisor positions in Illinois most commonly involve EB-3 sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which covers skilled workers in roles requiring at least two years of training or experience. H-1B sponsorship is less common for food supervisors because the role typically does not require a bachelor's degree in a specific specialty field, though some corporate-level positions may qualify.
Which cities in Illinois have the most food supervisor sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the vast majority of food supervisor sponsorship activity in Illinois, driven by its concentration of hotels, convention centers, healthcare systems, and large corporate dining accounts. Peoria, Rockford, and Springfield have smaller but active markets, particularly within hospital foodservice networks and regional food manufacturing facilities that employ supervisory staff.
How to find food supervisor visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters food supervisor roles in Illinois by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through listings that won't lead anywhere. Because food supervisor sponsorship often comes through large managed services companies rather than independent restaurants, focusing on enterprise operators on Migrate Mate gives you a more targeted starting point.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for food supervisor visa sponsorship?
Illinois employers sponsoring food supervisors through PERM must pay the prevailing wage set by the Department of Labor for the specific county where the role is located, with Cook County wages generally higher than downstate rates. The state's strong union presence in hospitality, particularly in Chicago, can also affect job classifications and the documentation employers use when filing sponsorship petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored food supervisor jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
