Search Hospitality Jobs in IllinoisHospitality Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
Which hospitality companies sponsor Green Card visas in Illinois?
Chicago-based and Chicago-operating hotel groups are the most active Green Card sponsors in Illinois hospitality. Hyatt Hotels Corporation, headquartered in Chicago, has a documented history of sponsoring permanent residency for management-level staff. Marriott, Hilton, and Loews properties operating in the city also appear in PERM labor certification filings. Large convention and food service operators, including those serving McCormick Place, also sponsor for specialized operational roles.
Which cities in Illinois have the most hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of Illinois hospitality Green Card sponsorship activity. The downtown Loop, River North, and Near North Side hotel corridors generate the most filings, given the concentration of full-service hotels, upscale restaurants, and convention facilities. Rosemont, adjacent to O'Hare International Airport, is a secondary hub with multiple large hotel properties and event venues. Springfield and Peoria see limited but occasional sponsorship from regional hotel operators.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Illinois?
Employers in Illinois most commonly sponsor Green Cards for roles requiring specialized training or management experience. These include hotel general managers, executive chefs, food and beverage directors, front office managers, and event services managers. Roles under EB-3 often include skilled positions like sous chefs and banquet captains where employers can document difficulty finding qualified U.S. workers. Entry-level or broadly available positions face a higher evidentiary burden in the PERM labor market test.
How do I find hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international candidates seeking visa-sponsored roles, including hospitality Green Card jobs in Illinois. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface Illinois employers actively sponsoring permanent residency in hotels, restaurants, and event management. Because Green Card sponsorship requires significant employer commitment, Migrate Mate helps you identify companies with an established sponsorship history rather than applying broadly to postings that may not support international candidates.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for hospitality Green Card sponsorship?
Illinois does not have state-level immigration programs, so Green Card sponsorship in Illinois hospitality follows federal PERM and immigrant petition processes. One practical consideration is Chicago's competitive hospitality labor market, which can affect how employers document recruitment efforts for PERM applications. Unionized hotel properties, common in Chicago, may have additional considerations around job duties and wage compliance that factor into how sponsorship cases are structured by the employer's immigration counsel.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card hospitality jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
