We're looking to build a laboratory operations team who are passionate and focused on developing state of the art techniques to processing and creating and interpreting vast amounts of genomic and molecular data.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for managing samples in the laboratory information management system (LIMS) and ensuring quick and efficient specimen processing

- Highly organized and systematic, superb attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Show initiative and ability to work as part of a high-level team while working independently
- Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly

The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
About us
Tempus was founded in August of 2015 by Eric Lefkofsky, after his wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Shortly after he founded the company in an effort to bring the power of technology and artificial intelligence to cancer care, he convinced Ryan Fukushima to join as the company’s first employee. Ryan and Eric began assembling a world class team, focused on building the first version of a platform capable of ingesting real time healthcare data in an effort to personalize diagnostics.
We built the platform for oncology and have expanded it to neuropsychiatry, cardiology, infectious disease (through COVID), and radiology. Despite our rapid growth, our mission remains the same—to help make sure patients are on the right drug at the right time, so they can live longer and healthier lives.
Why Work Here?
We’re looking for people who can change the world.
Who question the status quo and don’t shy away from tough problems. For the builders who are never done building and the learners who are never done learning. We’re looking for passionate people with undying curiosity. Those who want to attack one of the most challenging problems mankind has ever faced. Head on.

Which companies sponsor visas for operations analysts in Illinois?
Large Illinois-based employers with consistent H-1B visa sponsorship histories for operations analyst roles include United Airlines, Morningstar, Hyatt Hotels, Zebra Technologies, and major financial institutions headquartered in Chicago's Loop. Companies in logistics and supply chain technology, particularly those in the O'Hare corridor and suburban Cook County, also file regularly for operations analyst positions requiring quantitative or systems expertise.
Which visa types are most common for operations analyst roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for operations analysts in Illinois. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation when it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in fields like industrial engineering, statistics, business analytics, or computer science. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extensions are frequently hired by Illinois employers who then file H-1B petitions on their behalf.
Which cities in Illinois have the most operations analyst sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the substantial majority of operations analyst visa sponsorship activity in Illinois, particularly in the Loop, River North, and Fulton Market districts where technology, finance, and corporate headquarters are concentrated. Schaumburg, Deerfield, and Lisle in the suburban collar counties also have notable hiring activity, driven by large corporate campuses and logistics-focused employers near major interstate corridors.
How to find operations analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters operations analyst openings in Illinois by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through roles that won't support work authorization. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories in the state, which is especially useful for targeting Chicago's finance and logistics sectors where sponsorship patterns vary significantly by company size and hiring volume.
Are there state-specific considerations for operations analyst roles and visa sponsorship in Illinois?
Illinois has a strong university pipeline through programs at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Northwestern, and the University of Chicago, which feeds operations and analytics talent into Chicago employers who are already familiar with OPT-to-H-1B transitions. The state's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are set at the metropolitan Chicago level by the Department of Labor, reflecting the cost of living in one of the country's larger metro areas.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations analyst jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
