JOB SUMMARY
The Dev/Research Engineer 2 will support the design, development, and validation of mechanical systems and components, with a focus on engine and aftertreatment technologies. This role involves analyzing test data, supporting product design, and troubleshooting performance issues to improve system reliability and efficiency. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including testing, design, and purchasing to deliver high-quality solutions. This position offers hands-on experience with real-world engineering challenges in both office and lab environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, design, and support development of mechanical components and systems
- Analyze test cell and field data to evaluate system performance and identify issues
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
- Support component design including aftertreatment systems, injectors, and DEF-related components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support testing, validation, and product development
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in design, testing, or research engineering roles
- Experience with 3D CAD tools and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with engine systems, aftertreatment technologies, or performance analysis
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as DatK or Canape
- Experience with FMEA, validation planning, and testing processes
- Exposure to prototype development and supplier collaboration
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and product development processes
