Which medical devices companies sponsor TN visas in Illinois?
Abbott Laboratories (Abbott Park), Baxter International (Deerfield), and Medline Industries (Northfield) are among the most active medical devices employers in Illinois and have established histories of hiring international professionals. Smaller contract manufacturers and medical technology firms in the Chicago suburbs also sponsor TN visa workers, particularly for engineering and scientific roles where specialized credentials are required.
Which cities in Illinois have the most medical devices TN sponsorship jobs?
The northern Chicago suburbs form the core of Illinois's medical devices employment concentration. Deerfield, Abbott Park, Libertyville, Waukegan, and Northfield host several major corporate headquarters and manufacturing sites. Chicago itself has a growing presence in medtech startups and research-oriented roles. Rockford, in northern Illinois, also has a smaller but established base of medical manufacturing operations.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility in medical devices is tied to specific profession categories, so the role title and required qualifications matter significantly. Engineers (mechanical, biomedical, electrical, industrial) and scientists (chemists, biologists, physicists) frequently qualify. Regulatory affairs specialists with relevant science or engineering degrees, quality assurance engineers, and clinical research associates may also qualify depending on the specific job requirements and degree alignment.
How do I find medical devices TN sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate lists medical devices jobs with TN visa sponsorship in Illinois, letting you filter specifically for TN-eligible roles rather than sorting through postings where sponsorship status is unclear. Because TN sponsorship eligibility depends on both the job duties and your degree, reviewing roles on Migrate Mate alongside the specific TN profession categories on the USCIS and CBP websites gives you the clearest picture of where you actually stand.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in medical devices?
Illinois does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal TN rules, but the density of FDA-regulated medical devices employers in the state means many roles involve quality systems, regulatory compliance, or clinical documentation responsibilities. Demonstrating that your degree aligns directly with these technical duties is important at the border or port of entry, where TN admission decisions are made by CBP officers on the spot.
