Which insurance companies sponsor TN visas in Illinois?
Several large insurers and financial services firms headquartered or regionally based in Illinois have hired TN visa workers, including Allstate, Zurich North America, Aon, Gallagher, and Kemper. These companies operate large technical teams requiring actuaries, underwriters, and risk analysts, which are occupation types that align well with TN specialty occupation requirements. Sponsorship practices vary by role and hiring cycle, so it is worth researching current openings directly.
Which cities in Illinois have the most insurance TN sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of insurance TN sponsorship jobs in Illinois, given its concentration of corporate headquarters, regional offices, and financial services firms. Suburbs such as Northbrook, Schaumburg, and Itasca also have a notable insurance employer presence, including Allstate's headquarters in Northbrook and Zurich North America's U.S. base in Schaumburg. Opportunities outside the greater Chicago metro area are comparatively limited.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN status requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation under one of the designated USMCA profession categories. In insurance, positions that most commonly align include actuary, statistician, financial analyst, management consultant, and certain engineering or computer science roles within insurtech functions. General sales, claims adjustment, and administrative positions typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard. The specific job duties and degree requirements matter more than the job title alone.
How do I find insurance TN sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN visa holders and lists insurance jobs in Illinois where employers are open to TN sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards that rarely flag visa sponsorship status, Migrate Mate lets you search directly by visa type and state, making it faster to identify Illinois-based insurers and financial services firms actively hiring TN candidates for roles in actuarial science, underwriting, risk management, and related specialties.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in insurance?
Illinois does not impose state-level licensing barriers specific to TN visa holders for most insurance professional roles, though insurance producers and adjusters must obtain Illinois Department of Insurance licensure regardless of immigration status. For actuarial and analyst positions, which are the most common TN pathways in the state, professional credentialing through bodies like the Society of Actuaries, headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois, can strengthen both a job application and the TN petition by demonstrating specialty occupation qualifications.
