Which manufacturing companies in Indiana sponsor E-3 visas?
Indiana's largest manufacturers have established records of sponsoring skilled foreign workers, including Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Subaru of Indiana Automotive in Lafayette, and ArcelorMittal in East Chicago. Pharmaceutical companies, automotive suppliers, and steel producers across the state regularly hire for specialty occupation roles that qualify under E-3 requirements. Sponsorship decisions vary by role and business need, so direct employer outreach is important.
Which cities in Indiana have the most manufacturing E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis has the highest concentration of manufacturing employers, particularly in pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Lafayette supports a strong automotive manufacturing presence anchored by Subaru's assembly plant and its network of suppliers. Fort Wayne and Elkhart are active in commercial vehicle and RV manufacturing respectively. East Chicago and Hammond in the northwest corner of the state host heavy steel and industrial manufacturing operations.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Indiana?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations are the key requirement. In Indiana's manufacturing sector, this typically includes process engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, quality systems managers, manufacturing process analysts, and research and development scientists. Positions that require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the job function are the most straightforward candidates. General production operator and technician roles usually do not meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find manufacturing E-3 sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, industry, and state to surface Indiana manufacturing roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to searching general job boards and trying to determine sponsorship willingness case by case. Indiana's manufacturing sector is geographically spread across multiple metro areas, so filtering by city alongside industry helps narrow results to realistic opportunities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in Indiana's manufacturing sector?
Indiana does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal standards, but the state's manufacturing industry is project-driven and cyclical in sectors like automotive and steel. Employers in those industries may have hiring tied to production cycles or capital projects, meaning sponsorship opportunities can be time-sensitive. Indiana also has a significant pharmaceutical manufacturing presence that tends to offer more consistent hiring for engineers and scientists across the year.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 manufacturing jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
