Which manufacturing companies in Utah sponsor E-3 visas?
Utah manufacturers with histories of sponsoring skilled foreign workers include Northrop Grumman and L3Harris in the aerospace and defense segment, Merit Medical Systems and Edwards Lifesciences in medical devices, and Autoliv in automotive safety systems. These companies regularly file Labor Condition Applications for engineering and technical roles, which is a strong indicator of ongoing sponsorship capacity. Sponsorship decisions depend on role availability and individual qualifications.
Which Utah cities have the most manufacturing E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and its surrounding suburbs, including West Valley City and Murray, concentrate the highest number of manufacturing employers in Utah. Ogden is a hub for aerospace and defense manufacturing, home to facilities supporting Hill Air Force Base supply chains. Provo and the broader Utah Valley corridor have growing medical device and technology manufacturing clusters. Cache Valley in northern Utah also has food processing and industrial manufacturing operations.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Utah?
E-3 visa sponsorship requires the role to meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Utah manufacturing, qualifying roles typically include mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, process engineers, and industrial engineers. Materials scientists and supply chain analysts with relevant degrees also commonly qualify. General production or line operator positions generally do not meet the specialty occupation threshold.
How do I find manufacturing E-3 sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship and surfaces Utah manufacturing roles at employers with verified Labor Condition Application filing histories. Filtering by industry and state lets you focus on manufacturers in Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Provo that have documented sponsorship activity. You can also cross-reference employer names against DOL's OFLC wage and LCA databases to confirm recent filings before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for E-3 manufacturing jobs in Utah?
Utah does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal E-3 rules, but the state's manufacturing mix has industry-specific implications. Defense contractors near Hill Air Force Base in Ogden may require security clearances, which can affect visa holder eligibility for certain roles. Medical device manufacturers must comply with FDA regulatory frameworks, making regulatory affairs and quality assurance backgrounds particularly valued. Utah's relatively low cost of living compared to coastal manufacturing hubs is worth factoring into compensation expectations.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 manufacturing jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
