Search Executive Assistant Jobs in IndianaExecutive Assistant Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for executive assistants?
Large Indianapolis-headquartered corporations are the most consistent sponsors for executive assistant roles in Indiana. Eli Lilly, Cummins, Salesforce, and major health systems like Indiana University Health and Ascension have sponsored administrative and executive support positions in the past. These organizations have established HR and legal infrastructure to navigate sponsorship, making them more likely candidates than smaller Indiana employers.
Which visa types are most commonly used for executive assistant roles in Indiana?
The H-1B visa is the most common work visa for executive assistants in Indiana, though sponsorship requires the employer to demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, which can be challenging for administrative positions. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status transferring within a multinational company, or those on OPT or STEM OPT, may find a smoother path to employment in Indiana without requiring new sponsorship.
Which cities in Indiana have the most executive assistant visa sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the large majority of executive assistant sponsorship opportunities in Indiana, given its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large healthcare networks, and tech employers. Fort Wayne, as Indiana's second-largest city, has a smaller but present market through manufacturing and financial services firms. South Bend, home to Notre Dame and regional corporate offices, also sees occasional executive assistant openings with sponsorship potential.
How to find executive assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters executive assistant roles in Indiana by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving significant time over general job searches. Because sponsorship for administrative roles can be selective, focusing your search on larger Indiana employers with verified sponsorship histories, as available through Migrate Mate, gives you a more targeted and realistic pool of opportunities to pursue.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for executive assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Indiana follows federal prevailing wage requirements, so sponsoring employers must pay executive assistants at or above the Department of Labor's determined wage for the Indianapolis or relevant metro area. Indiana's university system, particularly Indiana University and Purdue University, produces graduates who sometimes transition into corporate executive support roles and may already have OPT authorization, which some Indiana employers find easier to accommodate than new H-1B filings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored executive assistant jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
