Which companies sponsor visas for executive assistants in Ohio?
Large Ohio-based employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for executive assistant roles. Companies like JPMorgan Chase and Fifth Third Bank in the financial sector, Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth in healthcare, and Procter & Gamble and Nationwide Insurance in Columbus have sponsored administrative professionals in the past. Sponsorship decisions depend on the specific role, candidate qualifications, and the employer's existing legal infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for executive assistant roles in Ohio?
The H-1B visa is the most frequently used visa for executive assistant positions when the role requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, such as business administration or communications, and meets specialty occupation criteria. L-1B visas can apply for candidates transferring within a multinational company. Some candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT work authorization pursue these roles before seeking employer-sponsored status changes.
Which cities in Ohio have the most executive assistant sponsorship jobs?
Columbus generates the highest volume of executive assistant openings tied to sponsorship, driven by its concentration of insurance, finance, and technology companies. Cleveland follows, with healthcare systems and manufacturing headquarters creating consistent demand. Cincinnati's corporate base, anchored by firms like Procter & Gamble and Kroger, also produces executive assistant roles at the senior level where international candidates are more likely to be considered.
How to find executive assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search executive assistant roles in Ohio without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings at Ohio employers with active sponsorship histories in administrative and professional services categories. Filtering by city, such as Columbus or Cleveland, helps narrow results to markets with the strongest hiring volume for this role.
Are there state-specific considerations for executive assistants seeking sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific metropolitan area, so Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati each carry different wage benchmarks for executive assistant roles. Ohio universities including Ohio State and Case Western Reserve produce internationally trained graduates who pursue OPT pathways into administrative careers before seeking sponsorship. Candidates with experience supporting C-suite executives in regulated industries like healthcare or finance tend to attract more sponsorship-eligible postings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored executive assistant jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
