Which companies sponsor visas for executive assistants in North Carolina?
Charlotte-based financial institutions such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo have historically sponsored skilled administrative professionals. In the Research Triangle, companies like Red Hat, SAS Institute, and Lenovo have active international hiring programs. Duke University, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest University also sponsor executive assistant roles, particularly for positions supporting senior leadership in research and academic administration.
Which visa types are most common for executive assistant roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for executive assistants in North Carolina, but it requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree in a directly related field must be a genuine requirement. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Some candidates transition through employer-sponsored green card pathways after establishing a track record in the role.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most executive assistant sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads the state, driven by its concentration of financial services headquarters and large corporate campuses. The Research Triangle, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, is the second most active area, particularly in tech, life sciences, and higher education. Smaller markets like Greensboro and Winston-Salem have sponsorship opportunities through healthcare systems and manufacturing headquarters, though at lower volume than the Triangle or Charlotte.
How to find executive assistant visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, including executive assistant positions across North Carolina. Searching by state and role on Migrate Mate surfaces opportunities in Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, and beyond, with filtering options that help you focus on companies with a track record of sponsoring international administrative professionals rather than applying broadly and finding out late in the process.
Are there state-specific considerations for executive assistant visa sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle draws a significant pipeline of international talent through NC State, Duke, and UNC, which means some employers in that region are already familiar with visa sponsorship processes for professional roles. For H-1B eligibility, the key consideration is whether the executive assistant role genuinely requires a specific bachelor's degree, which is more straightforward at larger corporate or university employers than at smaller firms where job duties may be more general.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored executive assistant jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
