Which companies sponsor visas for executive assistants in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin employers that have historically sponsored professional support roles include American Family Insurance, Froedtert Health, Epic Systems, Northwestern Mutual's Milwaukee operations, and the University of Wisconsin system. Large healthcare networks and insurance firms tend to be the most active sponsors, as they employ executive assistants at a scale that supports the administrative overhead of the H-1B petition process.
Which visa types are most common for executive assistant roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for executive assistant roles in Wisconsin, but it requires demonstrating the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, typically by showing the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration or communications. Some applicants with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may explore the TN visa under the NAFTA successor agreement, though executive assistant classifications require careful documentation.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most executive assistant sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary market for sponsored executive assistant positions, driven by its concentration of financial services, healthcare, and insurance employers. Madison follows closely, with state government agencies, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a growing tech sector generating demand. Green Bay and Waukesha County represent smaller but active secondary markets, particularly within healthcare networks and manufacturing headquarters.
How to find executive assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it more efficient than general job searches for executive assistant positions in Wisconsin. You can narrow results by state and role to surface opportunities at Milwaukee-area financial firms, Madison's university and government sector, and statewide healthcare networks that have a track record of sponsoring professional administrative staff.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for executive assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored positions are determined by the Department of Labor's wage data for specific metro areas, so compensation expectations differ between Milwaukee, Madison, and smaller markets like Appleton or Oshkosh. The University of Wisconsin system, as a cap-exempt institution, can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery, which benefits applicants pursuing roles within its campuses or affiliated medical centers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored executive assistant jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
