Which accounting companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Indiana?
Indiana employers with documented LCA filing history for accounting roles include Eli Lilly and Company, Salesforce (Indianapolis office), Indiana University Health, and regional offices of national public accounting firms. Manufacturing companies headquartered in Indiana, such as Cummins and Zimmer Biomet, also file for accounting and financial analysis positions where STEM-designated degrees apply. Sponsorship activity concentrates in Indianapolis, with smaller volumes in Fort Wayne and Bloomington.
Which cities in Indiana have the most accounting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the majority of F-1 STEM OPT accounting sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, hospital systems, and professional services firms. Fort Wayne supports a secondary market through its manufacturing and financial services sectors. Bloomington sees accounting sponsorship tied to Indiana University and its affiliated research and administrative operations. Smaller markets like Carmel and Fishers reflect Indianapolis suburban growth in financial services.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that commonly qualify include financial analyst, management accountant, cost accountant, internal auditor, and forensic accountant positions where the employer documents a degree requirement in accounting, finance, economics, or a related STEM-classified field. General bookkeeping and clerical accounting roles typically do not qualify. Positions requiring data analytics, financial modeling, or quantitative methods strengthen the STEM OPT nexus between the role and the student's designated degree program.
How do I find accounting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate lets you filter accounting jobs in Indiana specifically by F-1 STEM OPT eligibility, showing employers with verified LCA filing history for accounting and financial analysis roles in the state. This is more reliable than reviewing general job postings, which rarely specify visa sponsorship type. Migrate Mate's data draws from DOL disclosure records, so you can see which Indiana accounting employers have an active sponsorship track record before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT accounting sponsorship in Indiana?
Indiana does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal USCIS and DOL obligations. However, accounting roles in Indiana's regulated industries, particularly life sciences and healthcare, may require employer E-Verify enrollment, which is also a prerequisite for STEM OPT extensions. Indiana's CPA licensure board requires applicants to hold lawful presence, so F-1 students pursuing CPA credentials while on STEM OPT should confirm their eligibility timeline with the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.
