Which companies in Iowa sponsor visas for business development managers?
Principal Financial Group, Transamerica, Collins Aerospace, and Corteva Agriscience are among Iowa employers with established visa sponsorship programs who have hired business development managers. Mid-sized technology and agribusiness firms in the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids corridors also sponsor H-1B and other work visas, particularly for candidates with specialized industry knowledge in financial services, agricultural technology, or advanced manufacturing.
Which visa types are most common for business development manager roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for business development managers in Iowa, provided the role requires a specialized degree such as business administration, marketing, or a related field. L-1B visas are an option for intracompany transferees moving into Iowa offices from overseas operations. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may also qualify under the TN visa category if their credentials align with the role's degree requirements.
Which cities in Iowa have the most business development manager sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines accounts for the largest share of business development manager sponsorship jobs in Iowa, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and corporate headquarters. Cedar Rapids is a secondary hub with opportunities in manufacturing, technology, and logistics. Iowa City, home to the University of Iowa, generates some sponsorship activity through healthcare, biotech, and university-affiliated commercial ventures.
How to find business development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters business development manager roles in Iowa by visa sponsorship status, so you're not sifting through listings where sponsorship is unavailable. The platform aggregates positions from Iowa employers across financial services, agribusiness, and technology sectors. Filtering by Iowa and the business development manager role type surfaces the most relevant open positions for your search.
Are there any Iowa-specific considerations for business development manager visa sponsorship?
Iowa's Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations apply to H-1B petitions, and employers in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids are required to pay wages at or above the prevailing rate for business development manager roles in those metro areas. Iowa's strong agricultural and financial services industries mean that candidates with domain expertise in those sectors tend to see more sponsorship interest. The University of Iowa and Iowa State University also produce talent pipelines that some employers use to identify and sponsor international graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development manager jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
