Which companies sponsor visas for business development managers in Minnesota?
Minnesota's largest visa sponsors for business development manager roles include Medtronic, UnitedHealth Group, 3M, and Cargill, all headquartered in the Twin Cities metro. Mid-sized enterprise software and fintech firms in Minneapolis also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as regular H-1B visa sponsors for this role category. Healthcare technology companies in Rochester have also increased sponsorship activity in recent years.
Which visa types are most common for business development manager roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development managers in Minnesota, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or a technical discipline. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for the TN visa under the Management Consultant category if the role aligns with that definition. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may also explore the O-1A, though it requires substantial documentation.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most business development manager sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul account for the large majority of business development manager sponsorship activity in Minnesota, driven by the concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and regional offices there. Bloomington, Eden Prairie, and Plymouth in the western suburbs also host significant employer presences, particularly in medical devices and financial services. Rochester is a secondary hub, particularly for roles tied to healthcare technology and life sciences.
How to find business development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters business development manager job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, making it straightforward to identify Minnesota employers open to sponsoring international candidates. Because sponsorship is embedded in the search criteria rather than buried in job descriptions, you can focus on roles where employers have already indicated openness. Filtering by the Twin Cities metro will surface the highest concentration of relevant postings for this role.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for business development managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations for business development managers are shaped heavily by the Twin Cities metro area cost structure, which tends to set wage floors higher than rural Minnesota benchmarks. Many sponsoring employers here are in regulated industries like healthcare and financial services, which can mean longer internal approval processes before a formal offer is extended. Candidates with prior U.S. work experience in those sectors tend to move through employer pipelines faster.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development manager jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
