Which companies sponsor visas for product owners in Iowa?
Principal Financial Group, Nationwide, EMC Insurance, and Corteva Agriscience are among the Iowa-based employers that have sponsored work visas for product and technology roles. Des Moines financial services firms account for a significant share of sponsorship activity, while John Deere's technology operations and Iowa-based health systems like UnityPoint Health also hire product owners and have established visa sponsorship processes.
Which visa types are most common for product owner roles in Iowa?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for product owner roles in Iowa, as the position typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Australian nationals may qualify for the E-3 visa. Canadians and Mexicans in qualifying roles may explore the TN visa. Employers with existing intracompany relationships may also consider L-1 visa transfers for senior product leadership roles.
Which cities in Iowa have the most product owner sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines is by far the leading city for product owner sponsorship jobs in Iowa, driven by its dense concentration of financial services, insurance, and fintech employers. Cedar Rapids and the Iowa City Corridor represent a secondary market, with technology companies, health systems, and agricultural tech firms active there. Davenport, as part of the Quad Cities metro, occasionally surfaces product owner roles tied to manufacturing technology operations.
How to find product owner visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters product owner roles by state, making Iowa-specific searches straightforward. Because product owner positions in Iowa are concentrated in financial services and insurance sectors, filtering by those industries on Migrate Mate helps surface the employers most likely to have active sponsorship processes rather than sifting through postings that don't address visa requirements.
Are there any Iowa-specific considerations for product owners seeking visa sponsorship?
Iowa's cost of living relative to coastal tech hubs can mean the prevailing wage requirements for H-1B product owner roles reflect regional rates, which employers are required to meet under Department of Labor rules. The University of Iowa and Iowa State University produce engineering and business graduates who create a local talent pipeline, so international candidates benefit from emphasizing specialized domain experience, particularly in fintech, insurtech, or agtech, that distinguishes their profile from the domestic applicant pool.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product owner jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
