Migrate Mate's listings are sourced with sponsorship intent in mind, which is particularly useful in Iowa where the market is smaller than coastal tech hubs.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program manager visa sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's job market for program managers skews toward insurance, financial services, agriculture technology, and healthcare, so candidates with experience in those sectors are better positioned. The University of Iowa and Iowa State University generate pipelines of international talent that feed into both campus and private-sector program management roles. Iowa's lower cost of living affects prevailing wage benchmarks, which employers must meet when sponsoring H-1B workers under Department of Labor regulations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
