Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in North Dakota?
Sanford Health, Essentia Health, Doosan Bobcat, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, and the University of North Dakota are among the employers in North Dakota with a pattern of sponsoring international workers in professional and technical roles. Energy companies operating in the Bakken region also hire program managers for infrastructure and field operations projects, though sponsorship availability varies by employer and role.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in North Dakota?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for program manager roles in North Dakota, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or information systems. Some employers also use the L-1A for intracompany transferees moving into managerial roles. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management categories.
Which cities in North Dakota have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Fargo is the largest concentration point for program manager sponsorship jobs in North Dakota, driven by its technology sector, healthcare employers, and manufacturing base including Doosan Bobcat. Bismarck, the state capital, is the second most active market, with opportunities in state government contracting, energy utilities, and healthcare administration. Grand Forks sees some activity tied to the University of North Dakota and regional healthcare networks.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in North Dakota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify program manager roles in North Dakota where employers are open to international candidates. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can search by role and state to surface positions that explicitly involve sponsorship. Fargo and Bismarck are the most productive search areas for program manager openings in this state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program managers seeking sponsorship in North Dakota?
North Dakota's relatively small labor market means fewer total openings compared to coastal states, but competition for individual roles can also be lower. Employers in the energy and agriculture technology sectors often have specialized project management needs that align well with international candidates from engineering or technical backgrounds. The University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University also generate some employer pipelines for program management roles through research and administrative functions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in North Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
