Which companies in Nebraska sponsor visas for program managers?
Omaha-based employers are the most active sponsors for program manager roles in Nebraska. Union Pacific Railroad, Mutual of Omaha, and Berkshire Hathaway subsidiaries have filed H-1B visa petitions for program management positions. Nelnet and PayPal (which operates a significant Omaha technology center) also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for program manager and related roles. University of Nebraska campuses in Lincoln and Omaha sponsor program managers in academic and administrative technology functions as well.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program managers in Nebraska, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, engineering, or information systems, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with a master's degree may benefit from the advanced degree exemption during the H-1B lottery. L-1B visas apply when a multinational employer transfers a program manager from an overseas office. O-1A visas are an option for those with documented extraordinary achievements in their field.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international candidates searching for visa-sponsoring employers. You can filter by role and state to surface program manager positions in Nebraska posted by companies with a history of sponsoring work visas. This is more targeted than general job searches because the platform focuses on sponsorship-friendly employers, which matters when you're looking for program manager roles in Omaha, Lincoln, or elsewhere in Nebraska.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha is by far the most active market for program manager sponsorship in Nebraska. Its concentration of Fortune 500 and major regional employers in financial services, insurance, logistics, and technology drives the majority of H-1B filings in the state. Lincoln comes second, largely through the University of Nebraska system and state government technology programs. Outside these two cities, program manager sponsorship opportunities are limited.
Are there any Nebraska-specific factors that affect program manager visa sponsorship?
Nebraska's program manager hiring is concentrated in a handful of industries, so prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B are set against Omaha and Lincoln metropolitan area rates, which tend to run lower than coastal tech markets. This can make Nebraska employers more willing to meet the DOL wage threshold. The University of Nebraska system qualifies as a cap-exempt institution, meaning its H-1B petitions are not subject to the annual lottery, which can simplify the sponsorship process for program managers hired into university roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
