Major visa sponsors include Spirit AeroSystems, Textron Aviation (Cessna and Beechcraft), Boeing Defense operations, Garmin Aviation, and FlightSafety International. Which cities in Kansas have the most aerospace & defense sponsorship jobs?
Wichita dominates Kansas aerospace employment, hosting Spirit AeroSystems' headquarters, Textron Aviation facilities, and hundreds of suppliers. The Wichita metropolitan area accounts for over 80% of the state's aerospace jobs. Salina, Manhattan, and Kansas City suburbs have smaller aerospace operations, but Wichita remains the primary hub for visa sponsorship opportunities.

What is the prevailing wage for sponsored aerospace & defense jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
