The Contract Renewal Specialist owns the end-to-end contract renewal lifecycle with a strong emphasis on ARR retention, on-time renewals, and recurring revenue protection. This is a performance-driven, execution-focused role requiring disciplined daily activity, consistent follow-up, and strong pipeline management. In addition to protecting renewal revenue, this role supports growth by identifying upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities and partnering closely with Sales to ensure qualified opportunities are handed off and successfully closed. Success in this role requires urgency, accountability, revenue ownership, and a willingness to grind daily to meet targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of accounts with defined ARR renewal goals and monthly, quarterly, and annual performance targets.
- Drive contract renewals to protect recurring revenue and minimize churn.
- Proactively manage renewal timelines and initiate outreach well in advance of expiration.
- Execute daily renewal activities including outbound calls, emails, follow-ups, and CRM task management.
- Maintain consistent, persistent communication to move renewals forward and overcome delays or objections.
- Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Sales, and Operations to finalize accurate renewal terms.
- Process contract amendments, extensions, pricing updates, and term changes related to renewals.
- Identify churn risks early and escalate at-risk accounts as appropriate.
- Identify upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities during the renewal cycle and formally qualify and hand off those opportunities to Sales for pursuit and close.
- Partner closely with Sales to ensure seamless transition of expansion opportunities and alignment on account strategy.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records in CRM and contract management systems.
- Monitor renewal pipeline, forecast renewal ARR, and report progress toward revenue targets.
Day-to-Day Expectations
- High-volume daily outreach to renewal accounts via phone, email, and CRM workflows.
- Consistent follow-up and task execution to ensure on-time renewal closure.
- Daily pipeline review and prioritization based on ARR impact and urgency.
- Accurate CRM updates, documentation, pricing coordination, and internal approvals.
- Structured opportunity qualification and handoff to Sales.
- Strong activity discipline and measurable execution consistency.
