Which companies sponsor visas for clinical medical assistants in Kansas?
The University of Kansas Health System is the largest sponsoring employer for clinical medical assistants in Kansas, with facilities spanning the greater Kansas City area. Ascension Via Christi operates multiple hospitals and clinics across Wichita and Pittsburg, and Stormont Vail Health is a significant employer in Topeka. Community health organizations and federally qualified health centers throughout the state also file sponsorship petitions for qualified candidates.
Which visa types are most common for clinical medical assistant roles in Kansas?
Most clinical medical assistant positions qualify under the H-1B visa if the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific health sciences field. Some positions may also support TN visa status for Canadian or Mexican nationals when the job duties align with qualifying occupational categories. Employers in Kansas typically assess the specific educational and credentialing requirements of each role before determining which visa category applies.
Which cities in Kansas have the most clinical medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, particularly Overland Park and Shawnee Mission, has the highest concentration of clinical medical assistant sponsorship opportunities due to the University of Kansas Health System's large ambulatory network. Wichita is the second major hub, supported by Ascension Via Christi and Wesley Healthcare. Topeka, home to Stormont Vail Health, and Lawrence, near the University of Kansas Medical Center, also see consistent postings.
How to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas, as the platform filters listings specifically by sponsorship availability, so you are not sifting through postings that don't apply to international candidates. Search for clinical medical assistant roles filtered to Kansas to see current openings from health systems and clinics in the Kansas City metro, Wichita, and Topeka that have a demonstrated history of sponsoring work visas.
Are there any state-specific considerations for clinical medical assistants seeking visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not require state licensure for medical assistants, but many health systems in the state, including those in the Kansas City metro, require or prefer candidates who hold a Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program. The University of Kansas Medical Center also serves as a pipeline for internationally trained clinical staff through its affiliated training programs. Employers filing H-1B visa petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the Overland Park or Wichita metropolitan statistical area, whichever applies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical medical assistant jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
