Which companies sponsor visas for clinical medical assistants in Massachusetts?
Large health systems with established HR and legal infrastructure are the most consistent sponsors. In Massachusetts, Mass General Brigham, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Children's Hospital, and Beth Israel Lahey Health have sponsored clinical and allied health roles. Federally Qualified Health Centers operating across the state also hire clinical medical assistants and sometimes support visa sponsorship, particularly for underserved community clinics.
Which visa types are most common for clinical medical assistant roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common employer-sponsored visa, but it requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which can be difficult to establish for clinical medical assistant positions depending on the specific duties and degree requirements. Some candidates qualify through TN status if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals in eligible occupations. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT authorization are often more straightforward for employers to hire in the short term.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most clinical medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Boston and its immediate suburbs, including Cambridge, Somerville, and Brookline, account for the highest concentration of clinical medical assistant openings given the density of hospitals and research institutions. Worcester is a secondary hub, anchored by UMass Memorial Medical Center and Saint Vincent Hospital. Springfield and Lowell also have active clinical hiring, particularly through community health networks serving large patient populations.
How to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to show roles where employers have indicated openness to visa sponsorship, which saves significant time when searching for clinical medical assistant positions in Massachusetts. You can narrow results by location, filtering for Greater Boston, Worcester, or other Massachusetts metro areas. Many health systems post roles directly, but Migrate Mate aggregates sponsorship-friendly listings in one place, making it easier to identify relevant opportunities without reviewing each posting individually.
Are there state-specific considerations for clinical medical assistants seeking sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts enforces strict healthcare staffing standards, and clinical medical assistants working in certain settings may need to meet specific training or certification requirements under state regulations, which employers factor into hiring decisions. The state's high cost of living in Greater Boston affects compensation benchmarks that employers must meet for prevailing wage purposes under H-1B petitions. Massachusetts also has a strong pipeline of internationally trained healthcare workers through its large network of graduate programs and teaching hospitals.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical medical assistant jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
