Which companies sponsor visas for clinical medical assistants in Wisconsin?
The largest visa-sponsoring employers for clinical medical assistants in Wisconsin are major health systems, including UW Health (University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics), Froedtert Health, Advocate Aurora Health, ThedaCare, and SSM Health. These organizations operate networks of clinics and hospitals across the state and have established HR infrastructure to support H-1B and other work visa petitions for qualified clinical staff.
Which visa types are most common for clinical medical assistant roles in Wisconsin?
Clinical medical assistant roles in Wisconsin are most commonly sponsored under the H-1B visa, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Some employers also sponsor TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying allied health roles. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT work authorization are often considered by Wisconsin health systems as a first step before employer-sponsored petitions.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most clinical medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee and Madison account for the largest share of clinical medical assistant sponsorship opportunities in Wisconsin, driven by dense concentrations of hospital networks, specialty clinics, and academic medical centers. Green Bay, Appleton, and Racine also have active hiring markets through regional health systems like Bellin Health and ThedaCare. Smaller markets in the Fox Valley corridor are growing as health systems expand outpatient clinic footprints.
How to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in clinical medical assistant roles across Wisconsin. You can filter by state and role to surface positions at employers like UW Health, Froedtert, and Advocate Aurora Health that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Searching Migrate Mate narrows your options to employers actively open to sponsorship, saving significant time compared to applying broadly.
Are there state-specific considerations for clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin does not require a state license specifically for clinical medical assistants, but most sponsoring employers expect national certification such as CMA (AAMA) or RMA, which can strengthen a visa petition by demonstrating specialty qualifications. Wisconsin's health systems, particularly those affiliated with the University of Wisconsin, often recruit internationally trained candidates through academic pipelines and residency programs, making those networks a relevant entry point for credentialed applicants.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical medical assistant jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
