Which companies sponsor visas for clinical medical assistants in Pennsylvania?
Large integrated health systems are the most active sponsors in Pennsylvania. UPMC, Penn Medicine, Jefferson Health, Geisinger, and Tower Health have sponsored clinical and allied health roles in the past. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) operating across underserved communities in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh also participate in certain work visa programs, as federal funding supports their staffing flexibility.
Which visa types are most common for clinical medical assistant roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B is the most commonly discussed option, but clinical medical assistant roles often face scrutiny as specialty occupations because the position does not universally require a bachelor's degree. Some candidates qualify under the TN visa if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals with relevant credentials. International candidates should verify with an immigration attorney whether their specific role and employer qualify before applying.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most clinical medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh account for the largest share of clinical medical assistant openings in Pennsylvania, driven by their concentration of academic medical centers and hospital networks. The Lehigh Valley, particularly Allentown and Bethlehem, is a growing market due to Lehigh Valley Health Network's expansion. Harrisburg and Lancaster also have active outpatient and community health clinic hiring throughout the year.
How to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa-sponsored positions, including clinical medical assistant roles in Pennsylvania. You can filter directly by state and role to see which Pennsylvania employers are actively hiring and have a documented history of sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to manually screening postings that do not address visa support.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for clinical medical assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Pennsylvania requires clinical medical assistants to comply with state-level scope-of-practice rules, and some employers prefer candidates with formal certification such as the CMA credential from the AAMA. The state's large network of teaching hospitals connected to Temple University, Drexel, and Pitt creates employer familiarity with international candidates. Prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program apply, and employers must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before sponsoring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical medical assistant jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
