Which manufacturing companies sponsor visas in Kansas?
Major visa sponsors include Textron Aviation and Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita's aerospace hub, Cargill's protein processing facilities, and Garmin's manufacturing operations. Koch Industries subsidiaries, including Georgia-Pacific and Invista, also sponsor engineering and technical roles. Agricultural equipment manufacturers like AGCO and smaller precision manufacturers throughout the state provide additional sponsorship opportunities.
How to find manufacturing visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate specializes in Kansas manufacturing sponsorship opportunities, filtering positions by visa type and employer history. Focus on Wichita's aerospace corridor and agricultural processing centers in Dodge City and Garden City. Many Kansas manufacturers participate in university partnerships with Kansas State and Wichita State, creating pipelines for international graduates in engineering and agricultural technology fields.
Which visa types are most common for manufacturing roles in Kansas?
H-1B visas dominate for engineering positions at aerospace companies like Spirit AeroSystems and agricultural technology roles. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican engineers in NAFTA-eligible positions. O-1 visas occasionally apply for specialized aerospace engineers or agricultural innovation experts. L-1 visas support transfers within multinational agricultural and aviation companies with Kansas operations.
Which cities in Kansas have the most manufacturing sponsorship jobs?
Wichita leads with aerospace giants Textron Aviation, Spirit AeroSystems, and Garmin providing the highest concentration of sponsored positions. Kansas City area offers diverse manufacturing including automotive components. Topeka and Salina host agricultural equipment manufacturers, while Dodge City and Garden City focus on food processing operations requiring technical and quality control specialists.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for manufacturing roles in Kansas?
Kansas manufacturing wages typically fall below coastal levels but remain competitive for the region's cost of living. Aerospace engineering positions in Wichita command higher prevailing wages than agricultural processing roles. DOL wage determinations reflect Kansas's lower cost structure, making visa sponsorship more feasible for employers while still meeting federal requirements for specialized manufacturing positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manufacturing jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
