Which companies sponsor visas for operations roles in Kansas?
Several large Kansas employers have sponsored work visas for operations professionals in recent years. Cargill, with major facilities in Wichita and across the state, has a history of H-1B filings for supply chain and operations roles. Spirit AeroSystems, one of the largest aerospace manufacturers in the country, also sponsors for operations and production management positions. Garmin's headquarters in Olathe is another notable sponsor for operations talent.
Which visa types are most common for operations roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for operations roles in Kansas, particularly for positions requiring a bachelor's degree in fields like industrial engineering, supply chain management, or business operations. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in operations leadership may also explore the O-1 visa, though it requires substantial documented recognition in the field.
Which cities in Kansas have the most operations sponsorship jobs?
Wichita is the largest hub for operations sponsorship jobs in Kansas, driven by its aviation and manufacturing sectors anchored by companies like Spirit AeroSystems, Textron Aviation, and Koch Industries affiliates. The Kansas City metro area, spanning both Kansas and Missouri, offers significant opportunities in logistics, distribution, and corporate operations. Overland Park and Lenexa round out the top markets, particularly for technology-adjacent and corporate operations roles.
How to find operations visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find operations visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas, with listings filtered specifically for roles where employers have demonstrated a willingness to sponsor. Search by the operations category and select Kansas to see current openings across Wichita, the Kansas City metro, and Overland Park. Filtering by sponsorship type helps narrow to H-1B and other relevant visa categories for your situation.
Are there any state-specific considerations for operations visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas operations roles are concentrated in aviation manufacturing, food and agricultural processing, and logistics, which shapes both the types of positions available and the degree requirements employers typically require for H-1B sponsorship. Employers must attest that the offered wage meets the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific occupation and metropolitan area, which differs between Wichita, the Kansas City metro, and rural counties. The University of Kansas and Kansas State University also supply engineering and supply chain graduates who often seek sponsorship after graduation.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
