Which companies sponsor visas for program managers in Kansas?
Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation in Wichita are among the most active sponsors for program managers in aerospace and manufacturing. In the Kansas City metro area, Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) and Garmin have sponsored program manager roles in technology. Federal contractors operating near Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth also hire program managers and have established visa sponsorship infrastructure, particularly for H-1B visa petitions.
Which visa types are most common for program manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program managers in Kansas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or information technology. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visas under the NAFTA/USMCA professional categories. Some multinational employers in Kansas also use L-1A visas for managers transferring from overseas offices.
Which cities in Kansas have the most program manager sponsorship jobs?
Wichita generates the largest share of program manager sponsorship opportunities in Kansas, driven by its aerospace and defense manufacturing base. The Kansas City metropolitan area, which straddles the Kansas-Missouri border, is the second major hub, with technology, healthcare IT, and financial services employers sponsoring program managers. Overland Park and Lenexa, both suburban Kansas City communities, host corporate headquarters and regional offices that contribute to this activity.
How to find program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for program manager roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that won't consider international candidates. You can filter by state and job title to surface openings at aerospace, technology, and healthcare employers across Wichita and the Kansas City metro. Migrate Mate also provides employer sponsorship history to help you prioritize companies with a demonstrated record of filing H-1B petitions for program managers.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program managers seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas employers sponsoring H-1B program managers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the role and location, which differs between Wichita and the Kansas City metro due to regional wage variations. Aerospace and defense employers, which dominate Kansas sponsorship activity, often require security clearance eligibility, which can affect the sponsorship timeline and which candidates are pursued. University programs at Kansas State University and the University of Kansas also produce a pipeline of graduates who sometimes transition from F-1 OPT into sponsored program manager roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
