Which companies sponsor visas for software product managers in Kansas?
The most consistent visa sponsors for software product managers in Kansas include Garmin, headquartered in Olathe, and Oracle Health (formerly Cerner), which operates a substantial presence in the Kansas City metro area. Larger enterprise technology firms and defense contractors in the Wichita area also periodically sponsor H-1B petitions for product management roles, though at lower volumes than the major tech employers in the northeast.
Which visa types are most common for software product manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the dominant visa category for software product managers in Kansas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field like computer science, engineering, or business. Some candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify under the TN visa. Candidates with extraordinary ability in product leadership may explore the O-1A, though that pathway requires substantial documented recognition.
Which cities in Kansas have the most software product manager sponsorship jobs?
Olathe and Overland Park in Johnson County account for the largest share of software product manager sponsorship activity in Kansas, driven primarily by Garmin's headquarters and a cluster of mid-size technology companies. The broader Kansas City metro that extends into Kansas also generates consistent demand. Wichita, while more aviation and manufacturing oriented, has a smaller but growing technology sector with occasional product management openings.
How to find software product manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters software product manager roles specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, so you can focus on Kansas employers already open to international candidates without sorting through listings that don't apply. Given the concentration of sponsors in Johnson County, it's worth filtering by that region within Migrate Mate. Prioritizing employers with a documented H-1B filing history in product roles will sharpen your search considerably.
Are there any state-specific considerations for software product managers seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas follows federal Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, so employers sponsoring H-1B petitions must pay wages meeting the applicable wage level for the software product manager role in the relevant metro area. The Kansas City metro and Wichita are separate wage determination areas. University of Kansas and Kansas State University both produce graduates who enter product management pipelines, meaning some employers have familiarity with international candidate sponsorship through OPT and STEM OPT extensions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software product manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
