Which companies in Kentucky sponsor visas for data science engineers?
Louisville-based Humana is among Kentucky's most active H-1B sponsors for data science roles, given its scale in health insurance analytics. Tempur Sealy, Kindred Healthcare, and Lexmark International have also filed H-1B petitions for data-related positions. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville sponsor H-1B workers in research and applied data science roles as cap-exempt institutions.
Which visa types are most common for data science engineer roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data science engineers in Kentucky, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Candidates with a master's degree may benefit from the advanced degree exemption during the H-1B lottery. The O-1A is an option for those with demonstrated exceptional achievement in data science.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most data science engineer sponsorship jobs?
Louisville is Kentucky's primary hub for data science engineer sponsorship jobs, driven by its concentration of healthcare, logistics, and financial services employers. Lexington is the second-largest market, supported by the University of Kentucky, state government technology initiatives, and a growing tech startup community. Most verified H-1B filings for data science roles in Kentucky originate from one of these two cities.
How to find data science engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find data science engineer roles in Kentucky without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and role type to surface relevant openings from Kentucky employers in healthcare analytics, logistics, and technology. Migrate Mate is built for international candidates navigating the U.S. job market.
Are there state-specific considerations for data science engineers seeking sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky's data science hiring is heavily shaped by the healthcare sector, so candidates with experience in clinical data, insurance claims analytics, or health informatics are particularly competitive with Louisville employers like Humana. The University of Kentucky's data science programs also create a local talent pipeline, meaning sponsored candidates often need specialized industry experience or advanced degrees to stand out. Prevailing wage requirements apply statewide under DOL guidelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science engineer jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
