Which companies sponsor visas for program directors in Kentucky?
Healthcare systems including Norton Healthcare, Baptist Health, and UK HealthCare are among the more active H-1B sponsors for senior program roles in Kentucky. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville also sponsor program directors in research and academic administration. Nonprofit organizations and state government contractors in Louisville and Lexington occasionally sponsor as well, though frequency varies by organization and fiscal year.
Which visa types are most common for program director roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program directors in Kentucky, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories are relevant for candidates pursuing permanent residence after initial sponsorship. TN visa status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or professional classifications, depending on the specific role definition.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most program director sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the largest share of program director sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by its concentration of hospital systems, nonprofits, and corporate headquarters. Lexington is the second most active market, anchored by the University of Kentucky and associated healthcare and research institutions. Frankfort sees some activity through state government and policy-adjacent organizations, though it is considerably smaller than the two major metro markets.
How to find program director visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, which saves significant time when searching for program director roles in Kentucky. You can browse positions across healthcare, education, and nonprofit sectors that have confirmed or likely sponsorship. Because program director is a senior title with varied industry definitions, reviewing role requirements carefully on Migrate Mate helps identify which postings align with your specific background and visa eligibility.
Are there state-specific considerations for program directors seeking sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky's program director market is heavily weighted toward healthcare and higher education, meaning prevailing wage determinations under H-1B applications typically reference those industry benchmarks rather than technology or finance equivalents. Public university employers like the University of Kentucky are cap-exempt H-1B sponsors, which means they can file petitions year-round without waiting for the annual lottery. Candidates targeting those institutions can pursue sponsorship on a different timeline than private-sector applicants subject to the April cap season.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program director jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
