Which companies in Kentucky sponsor visas for program specialists?
Humana and Anthem, both with significant operations in Louisville, have sponsored H-1B visas for program specialist roles in healthcare administration. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville sponsor foreign nationals in academic and research program roles. State and federal contractors operating in the Frankfort and Lexington areas also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for this occupation.
Which visa types are most common for program specialist roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program specialists, provided the role requires a specific bachelor's degree and meets the specialty occupation standard. Candidates in academic or research settings may also encounter J-1 exchange visitor sponsorship through universities. Some government-affiliated roles may qualify for TN status if the applicant is Canadian or Mexican and the position fits an eligible USMCA category.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most program specialist sponsorship jobs?
Louisville generates the highest volume of program specialist sponsorship activity, driven by its healthcare and corporate services sector. Lexington follows, with the University of Kentucky and its affiliated medical center sponsoring roles in program administration and research coordination. Frankfort, as the state capital, attracts government contractors and public agencies that occasionally sponsor for program specialist positions.
How to find program specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles offering visa sponsorship, including program specialist positions in Kentucky. Rather than sorting through general job boards where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces employers in Louisville, Lexington, and beyond that have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates for program specialist and similar roles.
Are there any Kentucky-specific considerations for program specialists seeking visa sponsorship?
Kentucky's program specialist market is heavily influenced by the healthcare and higher education sectors, meaning candidates with degrees in public health, social work, or education administration are well-positioned. The University of Kentucky and UK HealthCare have established international hiring pipelines. Because many program specialist roles at state agencies require specific licensure or clearance, international applicants should confirm eligibility requirements before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program specialist jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
