Which companies sponsor visas for program specialists in Delaware?
Financial institutions headquartered or with major operations in Wilmington, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and DuPont, have histories of sponsoring H-1B visas for program specialist roles. Christiana Care Health System and the University of Delaware sponsor program specialists in healthcare administration and research. State agency contractors and federal program offices in Dover also periodically sponsor qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for program specialist roles in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program specialists in Delaware, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. L-1B visas apply when a multinational employer transfers a specialist with proprietary knowledge. Some university-affiliated program roles may support J-1 exchange visitor status, though that category has distinct limitations on long-term work authorization.
Which cities in Delaware have the most program specialist sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the majority of program specialist sponsorship activity in Delaware, driven by its concentration of financial services firms, corporate headquarters, and professional services employers. Newark, home to the University of Delaware, generates program specialist openings in research administration and grant management. Dover, the state capital, has government and contractor-driven program specialist roles, though sponsorship is less common in that sector.
How to find program specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters program specialist jobs specifically by visa sponsorship, so you can search Delaware openings without sifting through listings that don't sponsor. The platform aggregates roles from financial services, healthcare, and university employers across Wilmington, Newark, and Dover. Filtering by role type and location on Migrate Mate helps international candidates identify which Delaware employers are actively willing to sponsor.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program specialist sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware's status as a corporate incorporation hub means many Fortune 500 companies maintain legal or administrative presences in Wilmington, which can support intracompany transfer petitions for program specialists moving from an overseas office. The University of Delaware's research programs also create a pipeline for OPT-to-H-1B transitions. Employers filing H-1B petitions for Delaware-based roles must post the required Labor Condition Application notice at the specific worksite location.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program specialist jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
