ABOUT | Workday@Clemson
Clemson University is migrating primary human resources, finance processes and systems to our new cloud-based enterprise resource platform (ERP), Workday@Clemson. Ultimately, this investment will replace an antiquated system with a cutting-edge, intelligently designed one. Workday@Clemson will serve as a highly coordinated system ideal for providing a smooth user experience for faculty, staff and administrators alike, all while supporting our University's strategic plan, Clemson Elevate.
Our current HR and Finance systems are outdated. They predate the first ever webpages and the science of texting as a form of communication. A host of workaround systems and processes frustrate faculty and staff trying to complete recurring tasks like requesting a new hire. A new system that simplifies processes, removes disruption and keeps faculty and staff focused on high-priority work will keep everyone engaged.
By investing in this new system, we will effectively transition efficiently and strategically to a new system that supports both the efforts of Clemson Elevate as well as the needs of our students, faculty, staff and partners.

Which companies sponsor visas for program specialists in South Carolina?
South Carolina employers that have sponsored program specialists include MUSC Health, Prisma Health, Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, and state university systems like the University of South Carolina and Clemson University. Defense and federal contracting firms operating near Joint Base Charleston also appear in sponsorship filings. Sponsorship availability varies by role, budget cycle, and the employer's existing immigration infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for program specialist roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for program specialist positions in South Carolina, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Some university and research hospital employers also use J-1 visa exchange visitor visas for program-related roles. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may be eligible for TN visa status if the role fits a qualifying occupational category.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most program specialist sponsorship jobs?
Columbia sees the highest concentration of program specialist openings, driven by state government agencies, the University of South Carolina, and Palmetto Health systems. Charleston is the second strongest market, supported by MUSC, federal contractors, and a growing technology sector. Greenville has emerging opportunities through healthcare expansion and advanced manufacturing firms, though the sponsorship volume there remains smaller than Columbia or Charleston.
How to find program specialist visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters program specialist jobs in South Carolina specifically by visa sponsorship, so you are not sorting through postings that won't support foreign workers. Search by job title and state on Migrate Mate to see current openings at employers like MUSC, Prisma Health, and federal contractors in the Charleston and Columbia areas. Setting up alerts for new postings helps since sponsorship roles in this state are filled competitively.
What should program specialists know about visa sponsorship conditions in South Carolina?
South Carolina employers sponsoring H-1B program specialists must pay the prevailing wage for the role and location as determined by the Department of Labor, which is tied to the specific occupation code and metropolitan area. Columbia and Charleston have different prevailing wage benchmarks, so a program specialist role at a Midlands state agency may be assessed differently than an equivalent position in the Charleston metro. Verifying that a job offer meets prevailing wage requirements before accepting is an important step in the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program specialist jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
